Olney Friends School receives donation

Olney Friends School in Barnesville received $23,000 from Stillwater Monthly Meeting, a part of Ohio Yearly Meeting (Conservative). The money will be used toward  the re-pavement of the Olney driveway. The driveway is estimated to cost $68,000. Bob Rockwell, from the class of 1956 and a member of Stillwater, is presenting the check to Christian Acedmah, 2001 class member and head of school, and Ann Marie Taber, from the class of '79 and development director, at the school. Olney Friends School, a co-educational boarding and day school affiliated with the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), opened in 1837 in Mount Pleasant and relocated to Barnesville in 1876. The campus, along with the Stillwater Meeting House are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
