Covid cases on decline in Belmont County

Special to the Enterprise

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Although almost 14,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered by the Belmont County Health Department, herd immunity has not been reached just yet.

Vaccination clinics are held each week. While appointments are encouraged, walk-ins will be accepted.

The health department has a large supply of the Moderna vaccine and is working to acquire more from Pfizer for teenagers.

As far as positive cases of the virus, numbers are on the decline.

Currently, there are 410 active cases, 19 hospitalizations and 115 deaths in the county. That's a big difference since April 5 when there were 440 active cases, 79 hospitalizations and 108 deaths.
