Barnesville Area Youth Soccer (BAYS) is announcing its alumni reunion and game for Saturday afternoon, October 3rd at Olney Friends School. Game is set for 3:30 p.m. on the field, and players are asked to have shin guards as well as two shirts- one of color and one white shirt.
Alumni who played during their high school years on the league’s Barnesville Greens’ soccer teams are invited to an after game food smorgasbord for a time of socializing in Olney’s gym. In case of bad weather, the event will be held the next day on Sunday, October 4th at 3:30 p.m.
A league spokesperson said that we have 12 years of alumni while our Barnesville School District is still “kicking the ball down the road” in making high school soccer an official Shamrock fall sport. The Barnesville Greens Soccer team will not get a “milk bucket trophy” for their recent 6-2 win over Union Local.
Initial comments regarding an alumni reunion and game have been enthusiastic. Anyone who played from 2002 to 2015 is invited to call or write to Bays Alumni, PO. Box 216, Barnesville, OH 43713 and include name, address and contact info.
Messages may be left by E-mail with Shane Grimes at or with Kory Mathews at Phone calls to Chance Carman at 740-425-1479 or by Facebook at Barnesville Area Youth Soccer Alumni.
Date, time and location of the event will depend on interest and response shown by alumni.
