Local schools Shenandoah and Barnesville competed in the Wheeling Hospital OVAC Boys' Basketball Championships this week.
Both the Zeps and Shamrocks earned qualifying spots in Class 2-A, and will compete in semfinal games on Tuesday. Shenandoah, the No. 2 seed, will host No. 3 Steubenville Catholic while Barnesville, the No. 4 seed, played at No. 1 seed Shadyside. JV action at both sites began at 6 p.m.
In Class 4-A, it'll be No. 4 East Liverpool at No. 1 Wheeling Park and No. 3 Steubenville at No. 2 John Marshall.
In Class 3-A, the semifinals feature No. 4 Harrison Central at No. 1 Magnolia and No. 3 Weir at No. 2 St. Clairsville.
In Class 1-A, it's No. 4 Valley at No. 1 Bridgeport and No. 3 Hundred at No. 2 Bishop Donahue.
The winners will advance to the championship games on Saturday, Feb. 20 at Ohio University Eastern, with the Class 3-A title game at 10 a.m.; the Class 4-A championship at 1 p.m; the Class 1-A finale at 4 p.m.; and the Class 2-A championship at 7 p.m.
