WINTERSVILLE -- The Barnesville High boys' basketball team closed the regular season Friday night riding a four-game winning streak after defeating the host Indian Creek Redskins, 53-44, behind a game-high 18 points from Colby MacMillan.

Barnesville (13-7) closed the season with victories over Buckeye Trail, Caldwell, Edison and Indian Creek.

Battling the flu throughout the contest, MacMillan converted five field goal tries including a three-point bucket, 7-of-10 free throw attempts and finished with seven steals to lead Shamrocks to victory.

In only his second varsity start for an ailing Tyler Fitzpatrick, sophomore Christian Bailey finished with six points and a team-high 10 rebounds. Bailey used his size to help lead Barnesville to a 35-28 advantage on the boards.

Barnesville outscored Indian Creek (7-12) in each quarter to slowly pull away for the nine-point victory.

The Shamrocks opened with an 8-7 advantage after the opening quarter of play and increased the margin to 24-20 at the half. A 13-12 scoring advantage in the third frame gave the visitors a 37-32 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Barnesville won the final frame 16-12 for the final margin.

Preston Dornon added 10 points for the 'Rocks while Kody Skinner joined Bailey with six points. Bryson Stephen and Dalton Smith added five apiece for Barnesville.
