Former Barnesville High School basketball player and Ohio University Eastern Campus stand-out, Nicole Anderson, will be honored Saturday, Feb. 7 during the 1 p.m. game between Ohio University Eastern Campus and University of Akron - Wayne.

Anderson's uniform will be placed in the trophy case in the Health and Physical Education Center at the end of the ceremony. "I would like to thank my entire family and friends, especially my dad and mom for being so supportive and proud of me throughout my entire academic and basketball career," Anderson said.

During her time on the Eastern Campus' Lady Panthers team, Anderson grabbed 1,029 rebounds and scored 1,928 points. She was named to the 2007 Ohio Regional Campus Conference first team in 2007. In 2005 and 2006 she was the Ohio Regional Campus Conference MVP, and in 2004 she was named to the Ohio Regional Campus Conference second team.

Anderson graduated from Ohio University with a degree in exercise physiology. She has coached volleyball the past four years at Barnesville and currently coaches the freshmen boys' basketball team at Barnesville. She is the daughter of Brian Anderson and Brenda McCort.
