GLASS - Once a Big Industry Here

pix Bob Gray

North Lincoln Avenue resident, Bob Gray, is shown holding a remnant of the once flourishing glass industry in Barnesville. The remnant is a glass rock formed by molten glass which caused the 1921 fire which destroyed the Kearns and Gosuch Glass company located across the tracks from Barnesville's B&O Depot. Bob received this memento from the late Laco Pickens whose hauling and recycling business and Ferellgas now occupy that site. Bob has given his piece of glass to the Watt Center for History and the Arts.
