Candy was a lifelong resident of Woodsfield and Barnesville, Ohio.

She was proceeded in death by her husband of 44 years James "JJ" Jefferis, her sister, Becky Mahoney and her very special sister of the heart and friend, Patricia Rydosh.

She is survived by her 2 children Doug (Michelle) Jefferis of North Carolina, Rebecca Jefferis of Barnesville, Ohio, her grandson Aidan Grubb of Aurora, Ohio and her very special sister's of the heart Judy Morton, Norene Ewers, Faye Hickey and Rita Hershberger-Wiley.

Candy worked previously for the Monroe County Courts, C&L Auto of Barnesville, Sears Catalog before becoming owner of Hilltop Carryout in Barnesville.

While her passing may be seen as yet another sad chapter befitting the year that was 2020, we should all remember the valuable lessons it reminds us of. Candy grew up in "Boxtown" in Woodsfield – a place where you may have had little more than family and where family was not defined by blood alone. We should all remember that above else – our family is our greatest blessing.

Her outgoing personality always shined through. She loved working with the public and meeting and talking with people. She enjoyed going out and enjoyed gathering with her friends – making 2020 especially hard for her. She loved having an annual party at the VFW pavilion and spending the day with a few hundred of friends. We should always remember to not only be friendly, but to maintain those friendships and gather when we are able and to keep in touch when we cannot.

Finally, she leaves us a legacy of perseverance and courage. As her Parkinson's progressed and she struggled to maintain her mobility – she never stopped trying. She pushed forward with rehabilitation until the final day and she never let obstacles block her path. While each of our paths may have their own obstacles – it Is important that we press on and find a way to overcome.
