WHEELING, WV - John Ronald Buccella (known as John, Ron, or Ronnie) was born to Esther Jean Holland Buccella and John Buccella Jr. on April 19, 1952 in Warren, Ohio. His earthly journey of 67 years ended at 2 AM on 2/2/2020 in Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV with his daughter, his spouse, and his sister at his side.

John was a graduate of Frontier High School and Ohio University, Athens, Ohio.

He was an artist and designer in heart, mind, and soul. John worked in multiple mediums, but his favorites were flat and blown glass. He was known around the Ohio Valley in his youth as the drummer for garage band Cyme. John traveled the United States promoting concerts featuring world-renowned musicians including The Drifters, The Coasters, Bobby Lewis, The Kendalls and many more. He also worked at Olin Mathieson (Conalco).

John resided in Barnesville, OH the past twenty years; he had recently moved to Sisterville, WV.

Surviving relatives are John’s spouse of forty years, Amy Pierce; daughter, Zoe Buccella; sister, Helen Buccella-Costa; niece, Lucciana Costa and brother-in-law, Bobby Costa. He is preceded in death by parents, Jean and Johnny Buccella; maternal grandparents, Rosezella and Dan Holland; and paternal grandparents, John and Helen Buccella.

Funeral services were held 1 PM Monday, Feb. 10, 2020 at Hadley Funeral Home New Matamoras Chapel, 700 Main St., New Matamoras, followed by burial in Matamoras Cemetery. Visitation was held from 12 PM until the time of service on Monday.
