Dorothy L. Skaggs, age 93, of N. Main Street, Bethesda, OH, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2015, at Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling.  She was born September 4, 1922 in Maynard, OH, daughter of the late Norval C. “Pete” and Hazel Kinsey Kemp.
Dorothy was married to and is survived by, her husband of 73 years, William E. Skaggs.  They were married September 4, 1943 in Galveston, Texas while he was serving in the Army Air Corps, during World War II.  
She was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, and loyal friend to many.  Her kitchen and front porch were centers for conversation, coffee, and confidences.  She has been a faithful member of Bethesda United Methodist Church.  As a young woman, she served as Sunday School Secretary and while able to do so, was active in the church’s women’s group and their projects.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Marguerite Hunt.
 Survivors include two sons, Richard Lee of Wheeling, W.Va.;, Jay (Dana) Randall of Ashtabula, OH; daughter, Jane Ann (Richard) Woollard of Bethesda, OH; six grandchildren, Amy (Brian) Latham, Michael (Tricia) Sanders, Kelley (Brian) Helal, J.R. Skaggs, and Haley and Morgan Skaggs; six great-grandchildren, Noah and Liam Sanders, Devin and Mason Helal, Abbey Latham, Jayda Skaggs; and two nephews.
Family will receive visitors Tuesday, October 20th from 4-8 p.m., at Kelly Kemp Braido Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory, 322 N. Main St., Bethesda, OH, where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 21st at 11 a.m. with Reverend Tom Detling officiating and Reverend John Jackson participating. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda.
