Shirley M. Amos, 83, of Bethesda, Ohio died Thursday, February 12, 2009 at Wheeling Continuous Care Center. She was born July 26, 1925 in Flushing, Ohio a daughter of the late Dwayne White and Hazel Dickson White.
Shirley was a homemaker, a member of the Bethesda South Main St. Church of Christ, the Bethesda Senior Citizens. She also enjoyed bowling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul F. Amos; a son, Randy Amos; a sister, Dorothy White; and brothers, Lloyd, Leslie and Emmett White.
Surviving are daughters, Linda (Butch) Porter of Flushing, Ohio, Arlene (Cecil) Warner of Cadiz, Ohio, Paula Rathburn of Ind., Sue (Kevin) Grimes of Barnesville, Ohio; sons, Terry (Audrey) Amos of Bethesda, David (Veronica) Amos of Cambridge, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Donna Sexton, and Maxine White both of Flushing; brother, Emerson White of New Philadelphia, Ohio.
Friends were received Sunday, February 15, 2009 at Kelly-Kemp-Braido Funeral Home, 322 North Main St., Bethesda, Ohio where services were held Monday, February 16 with minister Tim Snyder officiating, burial in Long View Cemetery, New Athens, Ohio.
