ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The Belmont County Animal Rescue League has continued to make big changes in 2020 by hiring Howard Goldman as its new Director of Operations.

Goldman was hired from a pool of national candidates and came highly recommended by his colleagues at the Cape Wildlife Center in Barnstable, Massachusetts.

Goldman’s resume includes substantial experience caring for all types of animals, from household pets to more exotic species. He has also had remarkable success building and managing volunteer networks as well as spending time as an undercover humane investigator for multiple national agencies.

MaryEllen Gust, president of the BCARL board, said that she has never seen a candidate more ready to step into a role.

"Howard wowed us all through the entire interview process. We had candidates from all over the country, and he stood out from the pack at each stage. Our board wanted to go and find the best candidate out there to lead the daily operations of BCARL, and we are confident that we have found that director."
