Belmont County Sheriff’s announced the arrest of 31-year-old Melanie Crouser for endangering children.

Belmont County Sheriff’s were dispatched to Glenwood Village Apartments in Bethesda for a reported domestic disturbance.

Deputies said the residence was in deplorable conditions. Three children between the ages of 2-8 were found living in the residence. Deputies said they documented maggots and flies hovering the kitchen counter, feces smeared all over the bathroom walls and trash strung throughout the residence and dirty diapers littering the floor.

EMS was called to the scene to access the children and a caseworker with Belmont County Jobs and Family Services was called and responded to the scene.

The children were removed from the residence and are in safe place according to deputies.
