Community cleanup set

The Warren Township/?Barnesville community cleanup, in coordination with the JB Green Team, will be Saturday, May 2 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Barnesville Train Depot parking lot, 358 Mulberry St., Barnesville.

They will accept most old household junk, appliances, house and lawn furniture, carpeting, small and large household electronics, plastic riding and climbing toys, fixtures, mirrors, windows, doors, car batteries, etc. They will accept standard car or light truck tires only — on or off rims (limit 10 per vehicle based upon EPA regulations).

They reserve the right to turn away unacceptable items. Remember to bag or box loose materials to allow vehicles through the line in a timely manner.

Walk-in clinics scheduled

The Belmont County WIC Program will sponsor walk-in clinics the first Friday of each month. The hours are from 8:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Bellaire WIC office is located in the Chase Bank building on the fourth floor, room 402.

New clients need to bring proof of address, proof of income, proof of pregnancy and photo identification for themselves. Crib cards will be accepted for newborns.

Clients needing recertified, need to bring photo identification, proof of income and proof address. WIC is supplemental nutrition program that encourages breastfeeding and provides nutrition education to its clients. Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, infants, and children up to the age of 5 years old qualify. Working families are encouraged to apply.

Dinner-Auction planned

The 26th annual Harrison Coal and Reclamation Historical Park Dinner-Auction will take place at the Hopedale VFD Social Hall, 103 Firehouse Lane Hopedale, on Oct. 24. Doors opening at 4:30 p.m., dinner at 5:30 p.m, followed by speaker, and auction starting around 7:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Chris Runyan President of the Ohio Contractors Association. Something new at the event, will be a "Chinese Auction." Tickets are $20. Includes buffet style dinner, speaker, and more.
