The Barnesville Girl Scouts Service Unit (Black Diamond Girl Scout Council) will be collecting items for Bedtime Bags.
The Bedtime Bags will be given to children in foster care. The first night sleeping away from home is difficult and scary, and the Barnesville Girl Scouts want to help. As Girl Scouts, they pledge to make the world a better place and they are asking for your help with this project.
All items collected will be donated to Foster Hope Ohio Valley to be given to each child on their first night of foster care. These Bedtime Bags will help give children back the sense of security lost in the move by supplying them with a bag or backpack filled with items to help meet their basic needs or provide comfort during this difficult time.
The following are the requested donation items (new or gently used clean backpack/bags, please, and unopened travel size toiletries recommended):
Baby (under 2) — Diaper bag, bottles, diaper rash cream, bath towel/wash cloth, baby soap and lotion, baby book, hairbrush/comb, photo album.
Ages 2 to 5 years — Diaper bag, backpack, sippy cups, pull up sizes 2T-5T, bath towel/wash cloth, kids’ bodywash and lotion, tear free shampoo, training toothbrush, fluoride free toothpaste, book, coloring/activity book, hairbrush/comb, photo album, small toy, girl’s hair ties.
Ages 6 to 13 years — Backpack, small duffel bag, kids body wash, tear free shampoo, girl’s hair ties, hairbrush/comb, book, journal, photo album, water bottle, female hygiene products, headphones.
Ages 13 to 18 years — Backpack, small duffel bag, girl’s hair ties, hairbrush/comb, journal, book, photo album, water bottle, female hygiene products, men’s wallet, headphones.
Items can be dropped off March 1-14 at the following sites: Barnesville Schools, Barnesville Library, Belmont Professional Associates, Barnesville First United Methodist Church, and Ohio Hills Health Services (Barnesville location).
