Genealogical society to meet
The Belmont County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society meeting is Sunday, March 8 at 3 p.m. in the Genealogy Room, at Barnesville Hutton Memorial Library, 308 E. Main St., Barnesville.
The guest speaker will be Fred Thompson. He was born in Barnesville, to the late Alfred and Iva Thompson. He graduated Barnesville High School 1966, graduated Wheeling Barber College, U.S. Army 1967-1969, Barnesville Police 1969-1972, Belmont County Sheriff’s Office 1976-2013, was our Sheriff’s 2005-2013.

Walk-in clinics scheduled
The Belmont County WIC Program will sponsor walk-in clinics the first Friday of each month. The hours are from 8:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Bellaire WIC office is located in the Chase Bank building on the fourth floor, room 402.
New clients need to bring proof of address, proof of income, proof of pregnancy and photo identification for themselves. Crib cards will be accepted for newborns.
Clients needing recertified, need to bring photo identification, proof of income and proof address. WIC is supplemental nutrition program that encourages breastfeeding and provides nutrition education to its clients. Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, infants, and children up to the age of 5 years old qualify. Working families are encouraged to apply.

Meeting set for March 7
The 2020 annual Harrison Coal and Reclamation Historical Park Meeting will be March 7, 2020, at 11 a.m. at the Harrison County History of Coal Museum, 200 E. Market St. Cadiz. The meeting will include, election of officers and directors; membership meeting; review and discuss plans review; discuss fundraising; committees; machinery maintenance, restorations, projects; and more.
Anyone interested in being a officer, director, being on a committee, or volunteering is urged to attend. The Harrison County History of Coal Museum is located in the lower level of the Puskarich Public Library. Meeting will be held in the large meeting room.
Monthly Harrison Coal & Reclamation Historical Park membership meetings are held the first Tuesday at the Harrison County Visitors Center, 143 S. Main St., Cadiz, at 6:30 p.m.
The 26th annual Harrison Coal and Reclamation Historical Park Dinner-Auction will take place at the Hopedale VFD Social Hall, 103 Firehouse Lane Hopedale, on May 9, 2020. Doors opening at 4:30 p.m., dinner at 5:30 p.m, followed by speaker, and auction starting around 7:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Chris Runyan President of the Ohio Contractors Association. Something new at the event, will be a "Chinese Auction." Tickets are $20. Includes buffet style dinner, speaker, and more.
