Ambassador Girl Scout Troop 33069 is comprised of junior and senior high school students. The scouts focused on community service and fundraising activities during the last year. The girls served food at both the Barnesville Chamber of Commerce Banquet and the BHS Alumni Banquet. The members volunteered at the first Community Airport day in June. Assistance was given to the American Legion Post 168 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2792; the girls helped to distribute candy during the Pumpkin Festival parade. Later in the fall, the troop spearheaded a food drive to benefit St. Vincent. Currently, the troop is supporting the Barnesville Service Unit’s project to collect items for the Bedtime Bags which support children in foster care. In addition to sponsoring a Halloween Dance at Barnesville Middle School, hosting Breakfast with Santa, and coordinating the Valentine’s Day Scented Roses Sale, the troop participated in both fundraisers sponsored by council. The fundraisers will help defray the cost of the girls’ trip to France, Spain, and Italy in June.
The Girl Scouts of Troop 33069 include Morgan Winters, Emma Wharton, Alana Trigg, Rylee Stephens, Olivia Starr, Kaitlyn Roe, Abby Moore, Grace Detling, Sydney Carpenter, Elsa Bretz, as well as leader Julie Starr. In May, troop members Elsa Bretz and Sydney Carpenter will graduate from Union Local High School and Barnesville High School, respectively. The troop is grateful for the continued support of our families and the entire community. They appreciate the use of the First United Methodist Church for our activities.
