Otto G. Burkhart Jr., 77, of Woodsfield, passed away Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020, at the Arbors of Woodsfield.

He was born at Canton, Ohio on Dec. 22, 1942, a son of the late Otto George Burkhart Sr. and Murl Starr Burkhart.

He was the former owner of Cardinal Well Service and former owner of Burkhart Excavating, Woodsfield. He was also a retired farmer and a retired employee of the former Ormet Corporation, Hannibal.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Miltonsburg; a member of the N.R.A. and the Monroe County Farm Bureau.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Carol Hunter, Doris Headley and Patty Sharrock.

Surviving are his wife, Luella Mayberry Burkhart whom he married on Jan. 5, 1963; two daughters, Tammy (Randy) Graham of Lewisville, Kelly (Jeffrey) VanDyne of Beallsville; two sons, Terry (Etta) Burkhart of Jerusalem, Daniel (Odeta) Burkhart of Woodsfield; two sisters, Kay Robb of Barnesville, Charlotte Morris of Colorado; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Friends were received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, on Jan. 21, 2020, and Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Miltonsburg, with Fr. Tim Davison as the celebrant.

Burial followed in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery, Miltonsburg,.

Vigil services were held Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020, at the funeral home.
