Larry B. Shipley, 73, of Hendrysburg, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020, at his home. He was born on Sept. 18, 1946, in Zanesville, to Evaleen (Brooks) Shipley of Barnesville and the late Orville Shipley.

Larry was a 1964 graduate of Barnesville High School. He served as a Navy Seabee with the United States Navy during Vietnam. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Valley Mining for 24 years and retired from Oxford Mining.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 51 years, Melinda Lou (Yaus) Shipley, whom he married Jan. 11, 1969; three children, Shanon (John) Chase of Somerset, Kentucky, Hamilton Shipley of Barnesville, Jared Shipley of Cambridge; four grandchildren, Samantha, Nicholas, Steven, and Alicia; two great-grandchildren, Blair and Whisper; and siblings, Joyce (Roger) Reynolds of Hendrysburg and Diane (Jeff) Allen of Cambridge.

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. with Ev. Val Roxby at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St, Barnesville. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Fairview.
