ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Belmont County Tourism recently presented the 2019 Museum Grant check presentation on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at the Great Western Schoolhouse on the campus of Ohio University Eastern.

Six local museums each received $3,000 grants. They use these grants for upgrades and improvements at the museums and work must be accomplished by a licensed and insured contractor. Projects are to be completed within one year of receiving this grant, and receipts must be submitted to the tourism office for record keeping and auditing purposes.

"Museums are an important part of tourism in Belmont County. The Belmont County Tourism Council Board of Directors is happy to offer this grant, made possible with lodging tax dollars collected by the lodging facilities in Belmont County," said Executive Director Barb Ballint.
