Ernest Walter Stubbs, 97, of Belmont, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2019, at Barnesville Hospital. He was born on Aug. 15, 1922, in Quaker City, to the late Iris and Reba (Vonscio) Stubbs.
He was a member of the Morristown United Methodist Church and a retired Plants Manager for the Belmont County Sanitary Sewer District. Ernest was a United States Army Veteran of World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Dama (Ambrose) Stubbs whom he married on Dec. 21, 1946, until her passing on Nov. 10, 2009; and a brother, James Stubbs.
He is survived by his son, Kurt (Pam) Stubbs of St. Clairsville; daughters, Krista (Steve) Chappell of Lexington, Ky., and Kimberly (Fred) Blackman of Belmont; brother, William Stubbs of Hilton Head, S.C.; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and his loving dog, Kobe.
Memorial service will be Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Kim Anderson officiating at Morristown United Methodist Church, 201 Church St., Morristown. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut Street, Barnesville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Morristown United Methodist Church.
