Barnesville Progressive Home Helpers
On Saturday, Sept. 14, the Barnesville Progressive Home Helpers met for the eighth meeting of the year. Ronnie Duvall called the meeting to order. Pledges were led by Luke Castelo. Roll call was led by Jenna Duvall and answered with "Did you attend the fair. If so, name something you learned at the fair?" The secretary's report was given by Jenna Duvall, and the treasurer's report was given by Olivia Phillips. Conservation and recycling reports were given by Zach Mazgaj. Kylie Winland gave the safety report. Ryland Wehr gave the news report.
The club received fourth place for the booth at the county fair. Many members got numerous awards at the fair. A county wide reverse raffle fundraiser is being held at the Carnes Center at the fairgrounds on Oct. 23. The club will be sponsoring a basket to raffle off in a silent auction at the fundraiser. The club members also wrote thank-you notes on a four-leaf clovers to be used at the reverse raffle. Next year the Barnesville Progressive Home Helpers will be turning 100 years old. A discussion was held about what the club could do to celebrate this milestone. A discussion was also held about possible community service projects for December. They came up with the idea that they would donate food to different food pantries. The next meeting of the BPHH 4-H Club will be Saturday, Oct. 12 at 10 a.m.
