Daisy Irene Showalter, 89, of Sewellsville, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019, at the Astoria Place of Barnesville. She was born on Dec. 30, 1929, in Holloway, to the late Joseph and Myrtle (Duffy) Tipton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Robert Neal Showalter; granddaughter, Angela Giesey and Pamela Sue Baker; great-grandchildren, R.J. Baker and Lauren Paige Showalter; siblings, Jim, Donald, Geneva, Myrtle, Peggy, and Jerry; and sons-in-law, Jr. Baker and Jack Thompson.

Daisy is survived by her children, Bob (Brenda) Showalter of Piedmont, Sally (Dave) Francis of Barnesville, Sandy Huntsman of Flushing, Joe "Peewee" (Sue) Showalter of Sardis, Wanda (Donald) Giesey of Barnesville, Bernice (Bill) Gibbons of Barnesville, Melvin (Lois) Showalter of Barnesville, Richard (Cindy) Showalter of Barnesville, Earl (Diana) Showalter of Sewellsville, George (Donna) Showalter of Barnesville; 43 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; siblings, John Tipton, Jenny Pulley, Mike Tipton, and Betty Moorman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Sept. 12, 2019, at the Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, with Pastor Bob Merritt and Rev. Tom Detling. Burial followed at Sewellsville Cemetery in Sewellsville.
