ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The Belmont County Fair has been "A Family Tradition Since 1849."

This year’s fair runs Sept. 3-8 in St. Clairsville. 

The schedule includes: 

Sunday, Sept. 1

1 to 5 p.m.  Jr. Fair still projects can be put in place

5 p.m. Jr. Fair animals and tack may be put in place (nothing is permitted in the barns before 5 p.m.)

Monday, Sept. 2

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jr. Fair still projects can be put in place

5 p.m. Open class judging – antiques, photography (Wise Horticulture Building)

Tuesday, Sept. 3

8 a.m. All Junior Fair market animals, excluding poultry and rabbits, must be in place

8 a.m. Jr. Fair hog weigh-in begins (Perkins Swine Show Arena)

8:30 a.m. Jr. Fair Livestock weigh-in begins (Erb Electric Livestock Show Arena)

Order of weigh-in: Sheep, goats, steers, feeder calves

9 a.m. Open class judging – Domestic arts not judged on Monday (Wise Horticulture Building)

10 a.m. to Noon Jr. Fair still projects must be in place

Noon Jr. Fair Judging – Educational Exhibits: 4-H, FFA, FCCLA, and others (Jr. Fair Building)

2 p.m. Jr. Fair Royalty Crowning (Robinson Stage)

4 p.m. Jr. Fair Sheep Showmanship and Show (Erb Electric Livestock Show Arena)

5 p.m. Open class judging – Fine Arts (Wise Horticulture Building)

7 p.m. Open class dairy goat show followed by Jr. Fair Goat Showmanship and Show (Erb Electric Livestock Show Arena)

7 p.m. All other Jr. Fair animals must be in place

7 p.m. All livestock, commercial and concessions exhibits to be in place

7:30 p.m. Jr. Fair rabbit weigh-in (Rabbit Barn) immediately followed by Jr. Fair Poultry Weigh-In (Poultry Barn)

Wednesday, Sept. 4

9:30 a.m. Open class judging – Baked goods (Wise Horticulture Building)

Noon Official opening ceremonies with county commissioners and dignitaries (Robinson Stage)

The Belmont County Agricultural Society’s object and purpose shall be to promote and encourage agriculture, industry, schools, science, art, and other interests of Belmont County which the board deems proper and in the best interest of the community. The board of directors is responsible for the operation of the fair and for carrying out the Society’s object and purpose. They welcome any and all suggestions you have for making the Belmont County Fair one that will benefit and provide the most to all people in Belmont County and surrounding area.
