PERS to meet
The Belmont County Chapter 79 of the Public Employee Retirees, Inc., bi-monthly meeting will be on Wednesday, July 17 at 10:30 a.m. at the Belmont County Senior Service Center, 67650 Oakview Drive, St. Clairsville. BCSSC is on SR 40 across from Ohio U Eastern. The program will be a "how to use your" Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) Workshop. Barnesville Festival news
Anyone interested in advertising in the 2019 Barnesville Pumpkin Festival tabloid/program, should contact Susan Lapham at firstname.lastname@example.org, or 740-425-1453 or cell at 281-224-3030. All ads and payments are due Aug. 1. 7,000 copies of this popular, widely-read newspaper will be produced and distributed through the Barnesville Enterprise and during the festival. Anyone interested in sponsoring entertainment should also contact Lapham.
Farmers’ market to start
The Barnesville Farmers’ Market will take place the first and third Saturday of July and August of 2019. Anyone interested in setting up, feel free to contact Jane Jarrett at 740-484-1519.
Church picnic set
St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Temperancevile will have its annual church picnic on Sunday, July 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The meal includes chicken and roast beef dinners. Meals are $10 for adults and $5 for children. There will be crafts, games and a square dance that night from 8 to 11 p.m. with the Deep Down Country band performing. On Saturday, July 27, there will be a dance from 7 to 10 p.m. at the church with the Little Creek Band performing.
Church picnic set
St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Miltonsburg will have its annual church picnic on Sunday, Aug. 4 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the church. The menu includes the choice of chicken or roast beef, homemade noodles, mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, green beans, cole slaw, fresh vegetables, dessert and drink. Take-out is available. There will be games and refreshments all afternoon, and a dance is planned from 8 to 11 p.m. with the Deep Down Country band performing. The church is located at 35560 Miltonsburg-Calais Road, Woodsfield.
Super Sidewalk Sale set
A Super Sidewalk Sale is set for Thursday, Aug. 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in downtown Barnesville. There will be vendors, food, fun and sales. The event is sponsored by the Barnesville Area Chamber of Commerce.

Blue Star Banner available
The Blue Star Banner is available to any Barnesville area family of a serviceman or servicewoman serving in any branch of the military, including the National Guard (active or reserve). A banner will be dedicated to the family and then placed in their window for the service member. For information or to have a ceremony, call 740-238-2137.

The Barnesville Coin Club meets the third Sunday of every month, except December. The meetings are opo the public and are located at 229 E. Main St., Barnesville.
