Barnesville Village Council was reminded at its meeting May 13 that a scheduled water rate increase of $.40 for water and $1.00 for sewer is planned for July 1, 2019. 

Meanwhile, after an executive session, council agreed to purchase the other Frank Williams building for $25,000 in the village.

In other business, Village Administrator Roger Deal told council that the new assistant fiscal officer is Chris Mellinger. Her start date was April 28. 

Fiscal Officer Vicki Magers asked council for a Finance Committee meeting to review the 2020 Capital Budget requests. Council agreed.

Deal said the South Street Bridge replacement project is going well. They are currently working on the sidewalks. Deal gave council a proposal from Parnell & Associates to pave South Street from Chestnut to Henderson for $49,950. Council approved.

Deal also said the village’s annual clean-up was down a little this year.

Mayor Dale Bunting gave the April Mayor’s report. He said $765 will go to the state, $30 to Belmont County and the village will receive $1,319.
