COLUMBUS — State Rep. Jack Cera (D-Bellaire) hosted Monroe County Court Judge Jason Yoss for Ohio’s Judicial-Legislative Exchange Day, an annual event that brings judges from across the state to Columbus to meet with their state legislators.

"Judge Yoss is not new to the Statehouse: he worked here as a page back when I served my first set of terms in the Ohio House," said Cera. "I was happy to host Judge Yoss and discuss the unique issues affecting our part of the state."

Judge Yoss shadowed Rep. Cera throughout the day at the Statehouse, learning about the work that goes into developing the state operating budget. Yoss also heard testimony before the Ohio House Economic and Workforce Development Committee on a bill Cera joint-sponsored dealing with the reestablishment of the Rural Industrial Park Loan Program. In the afternoon, Yoss received an individual welcome from the Speaker at the beginning of House session.

The Ohio Judicial Conference organizes the Judicial-Legislative Exchange Program each year with the goal of improving the relationship between the legislative and judicial branches of Ohio government.
