Thanks to a grant from the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), awarded by the State Library of Ohio, Barnesville Hutton Memorial Library collaborated with Barnesville Middle School fifth-sixth graders and the Challenger Learning Center to participate in a Rocket Challenge. This challenge was held as a kick-off event for the library’s summer reading theme, "A Universe of Stories." Students paired up, designed and built rockets. They were able to choose their fin configurations and rocket nose cones for optimal speed and distance. The kids then launched their rockets with an air pressured launcher.
