One person was killed and two were injured when a vehicle crossed the center lane May 3 in Belmont County.
According to Ohio State Highway Patrol, Courtney Otto, 21, of Bethesda, was traveling westbound on State Route 147 at approximately 1:30 p.m. when she crossed the center line, striking another vehicle.
The Patrol said Otto’s 2010 Kia Forte struck a 2006 Buick Lucerne head on. Inside the Buick Marion Dimmerling, 71, of Barnesville. She was transported to Wheeling Medical Park Hospital.
Also inside the Buick was Betsy Dodd, 80, of Barnesville. She was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Investigators say all occupants of both vehicles were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident. The investigation continues.
