Belmont County Master Gardeners to have 21st annual Plant Swap

Join us on Tuesday, May 14 at 6 p.m. for the 21st annual Plant Swap. The Plant Swap will be held at the Wise Building at the Belmont County Fairgrounds.

Bring a plant or two from your yard or house and Swap them for something new. Annuals, perennials, trees, flowers and even seeds and bulbs can be Swapped! Please label each one of your plants with the plant name and any other information you think the new owner would like to have about it. Come prepared to go home with a whole new variety of plants! Even if you don’t have any plants to Swap, you are still welcome to come, there will be plenty of plants for everyone.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Refreshments will be available. They will also have a raffle drawing for an array of door prizes donated by several local businesses as well as the Master Gardener Volunteers. Tickets for the raffle will be on sale for two for $1 and the proceeds will go to funding future Master Gardener programs.

Flushing Garden Club to have meeting

On May 20, the Flushing Garden Club will have its monthly meeting at the home of Mary Betts with Nancy Mayo serving as co-hostess. The meeting will be called to order at 7 p.m. by club President Michelle Meyer. Karen Large will read the Devotions for the evening. Members present will answer roll call by naming their favorite design for a flower arrangement. Kathy Gibeaut will present the program which will be a video of the Philadelphia Flower Show. The table centerpiece will be made by Mary Betts and she is to incorporate herbs into the arrangement.
