Evan’s Take:The MLB season has started and on the AL side of things; I think the Astros will run away with it. Justin Verlander and Gerrit Cole are a great pitching combo that combine for a lot of strikeouts. Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa were also battling injuries that hurt them in scoring runs. Their bullpen led the majors in ERA and they have a lot of extra bats behind their starters. And also their starting rotation has a lot of depth along with their whole roster. I think their star power will lead them through the postseason and lead to a World Series title.
Haiden’s Take:The MLB season kicked off on March 28, and the race to the World Series has begun. My pick for the Finals this year is the Washington Nationals. The Nationals had a disappointing season in 2018.The Nationals have a deadly pitching trio with pitchers Max Scherzer, Stephen Strasburg, and Patrick Corbin. The Nationals also have young talents in Trea Turner and Victor Robles. The Nationals did lose all-star outfielder Bryce Harper in free agency. I believe that the Nationals will overcome the odds and continue to win without Harper.
