St. Patrick’s Day is around the corner, and to get ready for all of the fun and festivities to come with that, I have a great party snack or little goodie for the kids and grandkids to dig into! Get ready to bring out all of your holiday creativity and let’s get the St.Patty’s baking! Enjoy!
Prep time is 6 min.; Cook time is 4 min.; Total time is 10 min.
1 bag of full size microwave popcorn, light or regular butter
1 ½ cup of white chocolate candy melts
Different types of green/gold/silver sprinkles (Have fun with this one!)
Green food coloring
St. Patty’s Goodie bags (OPTIONAL)
Pop the popcorn and remove the unpopped kernels. Place the popcorn in a large serving bowl.
Place the white chocolate candy melts into two small bowls or glass measuring cups, one to be colored green later and one for white.
Microwave the candy melts for 40 seconds then 20 second intervals until melted and smooth. This part all depends on your microwave brand.
After the chocolate is melted, choose one bowl to be colored green and add a drop or so of green food coloring until you get the desired shade.
Drizzle the green chocolate over the bowl of popcorn and toss to coat the popcorn evenly; to do so, use a silicone spatula to stir the popcorn and to ensure that you get all of the chocolate out of the pouring bowl.
After coated, move the popcorn to a baking tray or serving platter, depending on whether you’re packing the popcorn up or serving it at a party. If you would like, you can add some green sugar sprinkles to the popcorn at this point.
Now drizzle the white colored melted chocolate on top of the popcorn. Then, decorate with sprinkles as you please!
Lastly, sprinkle M&Ms over the popcorn and allow it to cool for at least 3-5 minutes before serving.
Either pack up into goodie bags or place onto a serving tray and enjoy
