Dinner, auction planned
The 25th annual Harrison Coal & Reclamation Historical Park Dinner-Auction will be May 11 at the Sally Buffalo Park's Wallace Lodge, 100 College way Cadiz, or 43000 Industrial Park Road Cadiz. Doors open at 5 p.m. Dinner at 6 p.m. Followed by speaker and auction. Tickets include buffet style dinner, drinks, and more. Tickets are $20. Gardening workshop set
Flushing Garden Club will be having a workshop on "Making a Porch Planter" at the Flushing Firehall, 104 E. High St., Flushing, on April 15 at 6:30 p.m. Fred Holub of Holub’s Greenhouse will be the speaker. The workshop fee will $35 and reservations will need to be called into Barb Cencula at 740-968-4395 by March 25. Checks will need to be made out to Flushing Garden Club and mailed to Barb Cencula, 75725 McFarland Road, Cadiz, OH 43907, by the March 25 deadline. Participants will need to bring their own 10-inch to 12-inch pot the potting soil and flowers will be provided. There will be a Chinese Auction and plenty of food for your enjoyment.
Mental Health First Aid training set
Thanks to a grant from the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), awarded by the State Library of Ohio, Barnesville Hutton Memorial Library along with the OSU Extension Belmont County are sponsoring a Mental Health First Aid Training on Tuesday, April 2 at the Barnesville Library Annex from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This is a training that teaches participants the risk factors and warning signs of a variety of mental health challenges, as well as techniques to assess crisis, provide initial support and resources to connect person to professional help.
There is no cost for the training. It is sponsored by OSU Extension Belmont County & Barnesville Library through State Library of Ohio LSTA funds.

Warren Township Community Clean-up Day set
Warren Township Community Clean-up Day will be Saturday, May 4 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 358 Mulberry St., Barnesville. This is for all Belmont and Jefferson county residents. They will accept most old household junk, appliances, house and lawn furniture, carpeting, small and large household electronics, plastic riding and climbing toys, fixtures, mirrors, windows, doors, household batteries, car batteries, etc. They will accept standard car and light truck tires only with a limit of 10 per vehicle (EPA regulations). However, they reserve the right to turn away unacceptable items. Please bag or box loose materials to allow vehicles through the line in a timely manner.
