This year, Barnesville High School decided to take scheduling a different route by holding their first ever "scheduling fair" on March 14, 2019. Students were given the chance to take matters into their own hands and make their own schedules, which definitely made the students feel independent and in control of their school year. In past years, schedules were for the students but this year a decision to hold the our first ever scheduling fair was made. It was held in the gymnasium where each department had a table set up where students received a list of course descriptions, a copy of the master schedule, and a scheduling form. Each grade was given an allotted time to schedule; Juniors scheduled from 4:00-5:00, Sophomores from 5:00-6:00, and Freshmen from 6:00-7:00. Afterwards, a meeting for any student interested in taking College Credit Plus classes was held in the auditorium. Students who did not attend the fair had a schedule made for them based on their personal course history and graduation requirements. Those who attended really enjoyed the personal touch they were able to have on their schedule and getting to decide what they wanted to do for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year.
