The Barnesville Varsity Cheerleading Competition squad jumped, tumbled, danced and cheered their way into a 3A runner up finish at the OVAC Cheerleading competition at Wesbanco Arena on Feb. 2.

They dazzled the crowd and judges with their sharpness, facials and school spirit using an array of pom poms, signs and flags. Coaches Brittany Baker and Taylor Farrabee have coached these girls the last couple months in between the squad cheering on our boys basketball teams multiple nights a week. This is the highest the squad has placed in many years. The girls immediately left OVAC’s and traveled to the Dayton area to stay the night in a hotel to compete in the OASSA regionals the next morning. The squad unified together, even after one of the girls suffered a major injury part way through the routine, and earned a bid to the state competition on March 10.
