COLUMBUS — State Rep. Jack Cera (D-Bellaire) announced the release of $91,000 in state funding to Eastern Gateway Community College (EGCC) for the completion of architectural and engineering design services for three consolidated individual projects, previously approved in House Bill 529 of the 132nd General Assembly. The funds will help EGCC to strengthen security and safety measures for students and visitors, finish incomplete areas of the roof and expand ADA accessibility at the recently completed Student Success Center.
"Eastern Gateway continues to provide affordable, quality education to those in my district," said Cera. "These important enhancements to the campus show our continued commitment to improve access to higher education in Eastern Ohio."
The funds will be used to contract with MS Consultants Inc. of Youngstown for the completion of the architectural and engineering design services.
The funding to EGCC was approved at today’s meeting by the state Controlling Board, a panel tasked with oversight of state spending. Rep. Cera, who has served on the Controlling Board since 2017, was again appointed to the panel for the 133rd General Assembly.
