Barnesville Police Chief Rocky Sirianni praised local veterinarian Dr. Yurko for Police K-9 Dixie’s care after her recent ACL surgery. 

Chief Sirianni told Village Council on Jan. 21 that Dr. Yurko "went out of his way" to accommodate Dixie and his handler. The police department expressed thanks for Dr. Yurko and will give him a plaque for their appreciation.

Meanwhile. Chief Sirianni informed Council that the new K-9 Cruiser is still on track to be here in February. 

In other business, Mayor Dale Bunting commented on the 2018 EMS Summary. He said the squad had 1,006 EMS runs and 287 transports for the year.

He also congratulated Coach Stephens for being the OVAC Coach of the Year, and the wrestling team also won the AAA Title at the OVACS with wrestlers Griffin Stephens and Brylan Clouse placing third at the competition. 

The high school Robotics Team took a second place finish at the Alleria competition. 

Council approved monthly bills in the amount of $279,902.17.

Village Council will meet again Monday, Feb. 4 in council chambers.
