William "Bill" Gary Doty, 71, of Barnesville, passed away on Monday, Jan. 14, 2019, at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born on April 17, 1947, in Martins Ferry, to the late William H. and Agnes L. (Debo) Doty.
Bill was a retired heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed his family, boating, fishing, gardening, and just being outdoors. He was a problem solver and able to figure ingenious ways to fix anything.
Bill is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharon M. (Bonfini) Doty whom he married on March 22, 1968; three daughters, Bonnie (Chad) Moore of Barnesville, Jackie Doty of Barnesville and Shari (David) Moore of Pleasant City, Ohio; four grandchildren, Brooke (Ryan), CJ (Erika), Logan, and Landon; three great-grandchildren, Bentleigh, Kason, and Liam; and siblings, Joe (Michaelene) Doty, Jeff (Mary) Doty, and Linda (Wayne) Caldwell.
Visitation was Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, with Jamie Helmick officiating at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville. Burial followed at Somerton Southern Cemetery in Somerton. Military honors were conducted at the cemetery by the Belmont County Veteran's Association.
