This year has gone by extremely fast! It’s almost Christmas time, so here’s another holiday recipe to bring out and surprise the family with at Christmas dinner! Happy holidays, everyone!

Time: 30 minute prep, 30 minute cook time for 1 hour total

Serves 16

Ingredients for the brownies:

Cooking spray

½ cup butter

8 ounces of semisweet chocolate chips

1 ½ cups of granulated sugar

4 eggs

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

½ teaspoon of salt

¾ cup of all purpose flour

For the decorations:

16 small candy canes

16 gold star sprinkles or candy

? cup of rainbow sprinkles

2 cups of green frosting (white icing colored with green food coloring)


Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a 9x13" pan with foil and coat the pan with cooking spray.

Place the butter and chocolate chips into a large bowl.

Melt them in the microwave for 30 second intervals and stir in between each interval until the butter and chocolate are thoroughly combined.

Stir in the sugar, then each egg, whisking until smooth after each additional egg is added.

Stir in the vanilla extract.

Gently fold in the salt and flour.

Pour in the semi-smooth batter into the earlier prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the brownies comes out clean.

Once the brownies are done, cool them to room temperature and then chill for at least 30 minutes.

Using the edges of the foil, remove the brownie slab from the pan.

Using a sharp knife, cut the brownies into 16 triangles.

Snap the curved parts of the candy canes off and insert the straight parts of the candy canes into the bottom of the brownies, like a stem.

Place a dollop of the colored icing onto each triangle and smooth it out to the brownie’s edges.

Put a star sprinkle at the top of each brownie and then add rainbow sprinkles all over the brownies.

Serve and enjoy, or store, covered, in the refrigerator for up to one day!
