The Barnesville Progressive Home Helpers 4-H Club met on Dec. 8 in the basement of the Barnesville Main Street First United Methodist Church. The election of officers for the upcoming 2019 year was held. Election results were: Marah Bethel, president; Ronnie Duvall, vice president; Jenna Duvall, secretary; Oliva Phillips, treasurer; Ryland Wehr, news reporter/scrapbook; Brooke Watson, health leader; Kylie Winland, safety leader; Zachary Mazgaj, conservation/recycling leader; Blake Burkhart, energy leader; Kylee Gibbons and Cali Lee, recreation leaders; Anna and Ben Eberhart, song leaders; Emma Mazgaj and Hank Johnson, devotions leaders.

Club members were reminded that completed livestock books can be turned in before Jan. 15 and may be eligible to win a cash award. Completed officer books are also due to be turned in on Jan. 15. Members were encouraged to select their 2019 projects so that project books can be ordered. As a community service project, club members collected donations of school supplies and will distribute the supplies to needy students at Barnesville Schools after Christmas break. At the conclusion of the meeting and the election, club members played a game and enjoyed refreshments. The next meeting of the BPHH will be on Jan. 12.
