Donnie D. Carpenter, 75, of Somerton, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, at Valley Hospice Liza's Place Care Center in Wheeling, W.Va He was born on May 1, 1943, in Noble County, Ohio, to the late William Earl and Bessie (Carpenter) Carpenter.

Donnie served in the United States Army during Vietnam.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his companion of many years, Mary Ann Goodhart; and four brothers, Kenneth, Joseph, Emerson, and Wilford Carpenter.

Donnie is survived by his daughter, Donna Darlene Johnson of Senecaville; five grandchildren, Andrew Hayes, Bradley Hayes, Casey Johnson, Darrel Johnson, and Chance Johnson; great-grandson, Micheal Hayes; siblings, Adelia Covert, Frank Carpenter, Richard Carpenter, Carolyn Milhoan, and Bonnie Kirkbride, his twin sister; two step-sons, Michael Goodhart and Brian (Christy) Goodhart; step-daughter, Angie (Mark) Burkhart; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at noon with Pastor Rodney West officiating at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville. Military Honors will be given on Tuesday at 9:45 a.m. by Belmont County Veteran's Association. Inurnment will take place at a later date when he is laid to rest with Mary Ann on the farm on Johnson Ridge Road.
