The Barnesville Farmer’s Market will be held on Saturday in the "John Schradel" pavilion at the Barnesville Depot. Anyone wishing to join them, feel free to call Jane at 740-484-1519. They are always glad to have new people join us. We do a little produce and are hoping to have more as the growing season goes. We will have home made jellies, some baked goods, crocheted items, and other crafty things.
Back to school night set
In memory of Clint Stephens’ Back to School Night of Fun is set for Aug. 6 for ages K-6 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Amazing Playground and Shelter House at Barnesville Park. Snacks and school supplies will be provided while they last. Bring your cameras and get your picture taken on a Harley Davidson motorcycle. The event is sponsored by the American Legion Riders Post 168.
Family reunion set
Descendants of Ira and Alice Clift will have a family reunion Monday, Aug. 5, with a basket lunch at 1 p.m. at Barnesville Memorial Park.
Gospel sing set
A Friday night gospel sing is set for Friday, Aug. 10 at 7 p.m. at the East Main Church of Christ, Barnesville. Come join them for a great evening of a ccappella singing of hymns and spiritual songs from Songs of Faith and Praise. Light refreshments will be served.
Family reunion set
The Lucas-Carpenter Reunion will be held on Sunday, Aug. 12 at the Somerton Park. Bring a covered dish and a gift for the white elephant sale. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m.
Assumption Church VBS
Assumption and St. Mary’s Temperanceville Catholic Parishes will hold Vacation Bible School on Thursday, Aug. 9. Classes will be offered for children from pre-school through sixth grade.
Class to have lunch
The gals of the Class of 1965 will meet Friday, Aug. 3 for their monthly luncheon. Lunch will be at noon at Farm Fresh to Chef’s Table on South Chestnut Street in Barnesville.
Chamber of Commerce meeting set
The August lunch meeting of the Barnesville Area Chamber of Commerce will take place next Wednesday, Aug. 8 at noon at the New Life Center, 219 W. Church St. The business host for the meeting is Ohio Hills Health Services.
Festival Picnic planned
The annual Festival Picnic of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Miltonsburg (located on County Road 2) is being held Sunday, Aug. 5. Country style beef and chicken dinners will be served from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Dinner includes homemade noodles, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, cole slaw, fresh vegetables, dessert and beverage. Take out will be available. There will be games, food and refreshments all day. A dance will be held in the evening from 8 to 11 p.m. with music by Deep Down Country. The public is invited.
Girl Scout meeting

The Chamber of Commerce Sidewalk Sales will be Saturday, Aug. 9 in the Village of Barnesville.

CBAR meeting set
The next Concerned Barnesville Area Residents (CBAR) meeting will be Thursday, Aug. 2 at 6:30 p.m. The group will be meeting at the Library Annex, 611 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville.
Blue Star Banner available
The Blue Star Banner is available to any Barnesville area family of a serviceman or servicewoman serving in any branch of the military, including the National Guard (active or reserve).
