WHEELING – Dr. Stuart Anderson, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, has joined the staff at Wheeling Hospital and will begin accepting patients in April.

Anderson was most recently affiliated with UPMC Horizon in Greenville, Pa.; Edgewood Surgical Hospital, Transfer, Pa.; Grove City Medical Center, Grove City, Pa.; Sharon Regional

Hospital, Sharon, Pa.; and Greenville Orthopedic Associates Inc., Greenville, Pa.

He also was the team doctor for both Thiel College and Greenville High School and football teams.

After receiving a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa., Anderson went on to complete his medical degree at Sidney Kimmel Medical College (formally Thomas Jefferson Medical College) in Philadelphia. He completed his general surgery internship at Pennsylvania Hospital and orthopedic residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, both in Philadelphia. He went on to complete a trauma fellowship at the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh, Scotland.

Anderson’s practice emphasizes care in all areas of general orthopedics with special

interests in joint replacement, sports medicine and orthopedic trauma/fracture care, providing care for patients ranging from pediatrics to senior citizens.

He is board certified by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons; member of the Orthopedic Trauma Association and the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh, Scotland). He has presented papers at many international meetings and is a published author in both

orthopedic journals and textbooks.
