Workers began asbestos removal at the former St. Vincent of Barnesville Thrift store, Roe’s building at 114-116 W. Main, Memorial Day week. Included in the removal is asbestos roofing on the rear addition and asbestos shingles, dating to the 1940s, on the second story front facade of the building.
This structure, and several others recently purchased by the Village of Barnesville, are slated for razing for future downtown development.
