As part of the Belmont County Coordinated Transportation Plan, the Ohio Mid-Eastern Government Association (OMEGA) is asking county residents to complete a rural transportation needs survey.

Of particular interest to OMEGA is hearing from residents west of St. Clairsville.

Currently, there are several services that provide transportation, including national church residences in Barnesville, the Department of Job and Family Services, Senior Services of Belmont County and more, noted Sean Sammon, an employee of the organization.

Could improvements be made to any of those services regarding public transit? Sammon asked.

OMEGA plans to formulate a plan for the county commissioners to consider. After its approval, the document will be forwarded to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

The survey may be taken until June 11. It is posted on OMEGA’s website or at the direct survey link of: .
