Duane K. Grier, 88, of Barnesville, died Thursday (May 10, 2018) at Wheeling Hospital.
He was born April 18, 1930 in Barnesville, son of the late Vaughn Grier and Hallie (House) Grier.
A 1948 graduate of Barnesville High School, Mr. Grier retired from Owens Illinois Glass Company where he had been a foreman for many years.
He enjoyed listening to country music, playing the stock market, and taking rides in the country.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester and Joe Grier; and a sister, Eileen Palmer.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-eight years, Barbara (Starr) Grier, whom he married Feb. 19, 1950; a daughter, Dianna (& James) Coad of St. Louisville; a sister, Mary Rice of Marietta; three grandchildren, Amy (& Michael) Crawford, Joshua Coad, and Ellen (& David) Willcox; and eight great-grandchildren, Brooke, Rebecca, Alyssa, Jaxson, Addisyn, Lillie, Halen, and Ryder.
Funeral services were Monday, May 14, 2018, at the Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, with Pastor Rodney West officiating.
Burial was in the Friends Cemetery, Quaker City.
