Barnesville natives, Sally McKenzie, Jeff Freshwater and Greg Williams announce the opening of their NEW RESTAURANT coming to the Barnesville Community, Freshwater’s Farm to Chef Table.
The restaurant, featuring food from local area farms will be located on the property of the historic Barnesville Locker and Food Storage located at 338 S. Chestnut St., Barnesville.
Chef Jeff Freshwater has been living quietly in Barnesville with his wife, Cheryl, and their three children traveling to Wheeling each day to serve up his culinary talents.
Sally McKenzie, recently arriving back in Barnesville from California knew that Barnesville needed the talent of Executive Chef Freshwater and a new restaurant for the community. Sally went to Greg Williams and asked if he knew a location where the idea of a "farm to table" restaurant could be born. Greg brought up the idea of the Barnesville Locker and Food Storage that he bought years back from his father Frank Williams.
The three partners stepped back in time to view the original food lockers lined in gorgeous wood and the vision was born. Their intent is to bring historical items to the new restaurant for all of the community to enjoy and reminisce while having delicious and nutritious food from local farms prepared by Freshwater.
The partners are hoping for a Spring 2019 opening. In the meantime, Chef Freshwater will be parking his "Chef’s Table on Wheels" on the property with a grand opening the 3rd week in May and throughout 2018 with outside dining under the stars and the early morning dew serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
