ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The Belmont Soil and Water Conservation District is pleased to announce the winners of its 4th Annual Captina Creek Photo Contest! The theme for this year’s contest was “Kids in the Creek.” Entries could be photographed anywhere in the Captina Creek watershed, and were judged by content, quality and creativity. First place winner was Daniel Caron of Jacobsburg, Ohio. Caron had this to say about his experiences in the watershed: “[Captina Creek is] one of the most beautiful, pristine places in Ohio to enjoy the beauty of nature.” More of Caron’s photography can be found at www.naturenomad.com. Second place winner was Jerry Witmer of Wayne County, Ohio with his snapshot of his children enjoying the South Fork of Captina Creek.
Belmont SWCD would like to thank all of this year’s participants for such an impressive variety of photo entries that truly captured the beauty of the Captina Creek watershed. First and second place winners will be announced and presented with a prize at the Belmont Soil and Water Conservation District’s 70th Annual Banquet on October 8, 2015.
