The Belmont County Commissioners will hold a special meeting at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 24 in the commissioner's meeting room in the Belmont County Courthouse.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss funding options for a feasibility study for the proposed Belmont Harrison Guernsey waterline expansion project. Commissioners, county engineers, water and sewer district directors and other elected officials and interested parties from the three counties are expected to attend.

The water collaboration was developed to expand potable water resources to the local communities. These areas include the western end of Belmont County and the eastern/southeastern ends of Guernsey and Harrison counties.

This project could potentially supply water for residential and commercial customers and serve as a back-up emergency water supply for the three counties. Additionally, the project would also allow the potential development of another water source to serve all three counties.

The meeting is open to the public.
