The Barnesville Rotary Club met for a luncheon meeting on Tuesday, January 6 at noon in the New Life Center of the First Christian Church of Barnesville. President Joe Miller called the meeting to order. The club opened in song led by Larry Dietrich, the pledge of allegiance to the American flag, and prayer led by Mark Froehlich.

There were no guests in attendance. Matt Steele was a visiting Rotarian from the St. Clairsville Noon Rotary Club.

There was 87.0% club member attendance.

Bill Steedle was the only wheelspinner.

A happy birthday was wished to Rotarians Janey Doan and Mark Froehlich.

The bulletin number is 5.5 million. This is the number of referrals made by members of BNI (Business Networking International) in 2008.

Matt Steele of Steele Insurance in St. Clairsville was the guest of Rotarian Jason Perkins. Mr. Steele spoke about the world's largest referral organization, BNI (Business Networking International). He is a member of the Wheeling, WV, chapter of the group and recently completed a six-month term as President. BNI offers members the opportunity to share ideas, contacts, and business referrals. Dr. Ivan Misner founded the organization in 1987.
